PLOT
The story of the life of the outstanding scientist, one of the leading figures in world psychology and pedagogy, Lev Semenovich Vygotsky (1896 — 1934).
Moscow, 1934. At the twilight of his life, sensing his imminent departure, Lev Vygotsky, at the insistence of his close ones, agrees to several psychoanalytic sessions with the grand dame of world psychology, a disciple of Freud and Jung, Sabina Spielrein. Adhering to largely opposing views, the two great scientists attempt to answer each other's main question of their time — is there a method that allows for the upbringing of a "new person"?

PREMIERE AND RECOGNITION
The premiere of the film Vygotsky took place as part of the main competition at the Moscow International Film Festival. Following the festival, the film received awards in the categories “Best Director” (Anton Bilzho) and “Best Actor” (Sergei Gilyov).
In addition, the film was presented in the program of the Zerkalo (Mirror) Film Festival, where it won the film critics’ award. The film also entered the main competition of the East and West. Classics and Avant‑Garde Film Festival and was awarded the prize in the “Best Film” category.
